Bridging Health Access

As part of our Bridging Health Access project, funded by Kaiser Permanente Community Benefits mini-grant, BRFN has partnered with health organizations to work to improve access to cultural and linguistically appropriate physical and mental healthcare. Programs include:
*Community health fairs that provided free health and dental screenings and conducted health needs assessments with community partners.
*Advocacy for improved language access for refugees from Burma.
*Health Education workshops for refugees and asylees.
*Assessment for Referrals to Mental Health Care through Support Groups
*Language Interpretation at health appointments
*Assistance with and Referrals for Health Insurance Applications
*Consultation and training with service providers around cultural sensitivity
*Healthy Lifestyle Activities to encourage engagement in habits that promote health
