Founded in 2010 by newcomers from Burma, BRFN has now burgeoned to an organization that serves newcomers of all backgrounds. In addition to Afghanistan, Eritrea, and Ethiopia, BRFN serves clients from many other countries including Burma, Ukraine, Guatemala, Haiti, Iraq, Iran, and many more countries across the globe. BRFN serves refugees, asylum-seekers, asylees, and immigrants. Our staff speak Dari, Pashto, Farsi, Urdu, Hindi, Tigrinya, and Amharic. When we have clients who do not speak languages on staff, we utilize a professional language interpreting line, allowing our services to be linguistically accessible to all.
You can support BRFN’s work with the newcomer community in the Bay Area by volunteering, donating in-kind supplies, or providing financial support. If you are a newcomer of any background in need of support, please contact us for assistance.
